Haramain High-Speed Railway Surpasses 140 Daily Trips During Last 10 Days of Ramadan

Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR) has announced that the number of daily trips on the Haramain High-Speed Railway will exceed 140 during the final ten days of Ramadan 1447. The increase is part of the railway’s seasonal operational plan and aims to accommodate the anticipated surge in Umrah pilgrims and visitors traveling between Mecca and Medina.

The Haramain High-Speed Railway is one of the region’s most significant transportation projects, connecting Mecca and Medina through Jeddah and King Abdullah Economic City. Moreover, trains operate at speeds of up to 300 km/h, cutting travel time between the two holy cities to around two hours.

SAR explained that the increase in trips is based on seasonal demand forecasts. The authority also emphasized its commitment to maintaining the highest safety and service standards, with operational and field teams working around the clock to manage the expected high passenger traffic during the busy Ramadan period.
