The General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) have formalized a partnership by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to bolster collaboration on Multiple Indicator Cluster Surveys (MICS). This agreement seeks to strengthen coordination and foster integrated efforts between the two entities.
The signing ceremony took place at GASTAT’s headquarters in Riyadh, with Fahad bin Abdullah Al-Dossari, President of GASTAT, and Eltayeb Adam, UNICEF’s Area Representative for the Gulf, representing their organizations.
Through the MoU, GASTAT and UNICEF commit to sharing expertise and information related to MICS. The partnership will also involve expert exchanges, organizing joint conferences, seminars, and workshops to advance their mutual goals.
President Al-Dossari underlined that GASTAT’s statistical initiatives underscore Saudi Arabia’s leadership in developing and monitoring statistical indicators in the region. He emphasized that this collaboration with UNICEF will enhance efforts tied to MICS, contribute to achieving national priorities, and align with sustainable development goals. He also highlighted the significance of their joint efforts in promoting the exchange of statistical data.
