NEOM, Hakawati Join Forces to Revolutionize Saudi Arabia’s Film Industry
NEOM Media and Hakawati Entertainment have announced a groundbreaking partnership to produce nine feature films in Saudi Arabia. The collaboration will establish a world-class production services division in NEOM, driving the Kingdom’s creative ambitions forward.
This partnership aims to accelerate NEOM’s position as a hub for high-quality content creation in the global creative industry. NEOM Media’s cutting-edge facilities, including soundstages and diverse filming locations, will support the productions. Two feature films will begin production in the first half of 2025, with additional projects under review.
Hakawati’s Creative Hub at NEOM
Hakawati Entertainment will set up an operational base within NEOM’s thriving media ecosystem to enhance production standards. The new division will cater to international, regional, and local productions, combining experienced Hollywood-level talent and financial investments.
By leveraging Hakawati’s extensive network across Saudi Arabia, the partnership will connect local talent with global opportunities. This collaboration ensures streamlined project execution while elevating filmmaking standards across the region.
Driving Saudi Arabia’s Creative Vision
Michael Lynch, NEOM’s Sector Head for Entertainment, Culture, and Media, emphasized the significance of this collaboration. “This partnership marks a milestone in advancing Saudi Arabia’s media industry with state-of-the-art facilities and a skilled workforce.”
Osama Al Khurayji, Hakawati’s CEO, highlighted the broader vision, saying, “This partnership builds a sustainable filmmaking ecosystem while contributing to Saudi Arabia’s global leadership in entertainment and media.”
Investing in Saudi Talent Development
NEOM and Hakawati will invest in Saudi talent through programs offering training, shadowing, and job placements in the media sector. A Hakawati community will launch at NEOM in 2025, supported by workshops and at least three new training programs by year-end.
