Jeddah is bracing for hosting an innovative race experience next February, as two rounds of the renowned Formula E 11th season are coming to the Red Sea city.
On February 14-15, 2025, the iconic Jeddah Corniche Circuit will host the third and fourth rounds of the Formula E race, also known as E-Prix, for the first time.
The championship is the first global competition for electric vehicles (EVs), and the only championship certified from the International Automobile Federation (FIA) as the first global sport with zero carbon footprint, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Formula E brings thrilling races to the heart of the world’s most popular cities. The last six season of the E-Prix were held at the historic UNESCO World Heritage site of Diriyah, outside Riyadh.
The choice of Jeddah as a host to this innovative race underscores Formula E’s commitment to innovation and sustainability. It also aligns with the Saudi Vision 2030 and the Kingdom’s ambitions to position itself as a global sports hub.
The Jeddah Corniche Circuit will add more excitement to the race event with its high-speed straights and tight corners and the breathtaking Red Sea background, offering an unforgettable experience for competitors and fans alike.
Before arriving to Saudi Arabia, the Formula E will start in Sao Paulo on December 7, 2024. Then, it will travel to Mexico City and Jeddah. After that, the competition will move to Miami, Monaco, Tokyo, Shanghai, Jakarta, and Berlin, before crowning the champion in London.
