Saudi Arabia is hosting the ninth edition of the Future Investment Initiative Conference (FII9) in Riyadh, featuring an unprecedented lineup of distinguished guests to chart the pathway to global prosperity.
Under the theme “The Key to Prosperity,” FII9 offers a platform for influential leaders, investors, policymakers, CEOs, and innovators from across the world to develop actionable strategies that define the future of investment.
Unlocking Investment Opportunities
During his opening speech at the FII9, the Governor of the Public Investment Fund (PIF) and Chairman of the FII Institute, Yasir Al-Rumayyan, highlighted the volume of investments secured since the launch of the initiative.
He noted that, throughout the past 9 years, the FII generated investment deals worth of $250 billion, underscoring Riyadh’s status as a hub for investment. Al-Rumayyan added that Saudi Arabia measures growth, not in numbers, but in the prosperity of its people, setting a stellar example for true leadership.

The PIF Governor stated that foreign direct investments in the Kingdom recorded a 24% growth in 2024, reaching $31.7 billion, underscoring its standing as an emerging global destination for investment.
Moreover, Al-Rumayyan pointed to the growth in the global GDP and its inconsistency with the public perception. “Global GDP is over $111 trillion and expected to grow 2.8% this year. 66% of people feel positive about their lives, yet only 37% are optimistic,” the PIF Governor said.
A Model of Collaboration
Al-Rumayyan said that governments and the private sector need to work as true partners to achieve global prosperity, arguing that traditional economic models have become insufficient amid the rapid economic and technological change.
He also said that the world needs a new model of global collaboration that bridges inequality and unlocks opportunity to achieve prosperity, emphasizing the role of the FII in convening world leaders and decision-makers to drive change.
Al-Rumayyan noted that the FII9 would see a significant announcement to unify efforts aimed at achieving prosperity.
