DCO Secretary-General Meets Syrian Minister of Communications, Technology

The Secretary-General of the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO), Deemah AlYahya, welcomed Syria’s Minister of Communications and Technology, Abdel Salam Heikal, at the organization’s headquarters in Riyadh.
Discussions highlighted the importance of sharing best practices and expertise between DCO member states and the Syrian Arab Republic. The two sides also reviewed the DCO’s strategy for supporting its members and connecting Syria to a broader network of global digital stakeholders.

The DCO reaffirmed its readiness to support Syria’s digital transformation and commended the country’s efforts toward greater economic openness. It emphasized the crucial role of partnerships in attracting investment and narrowing the digital divide, particularly through initiatives such as Digital Foreign Direct Investment (DFDI).
Secretary-General AlYahya reiterated the DCO’s commitment to fostering digital transformation across the region and building a sustainable ecosystem that empowers individuals and entrepreneurs. She also stressed that dialogue and cooperation with countries like Syria are essential to advancing the organization’s mission of enabling digital prosperity for all.
