Clossal Expressive Artwork

In AlUla, two hands appear emerging from the sand and surrounding Tomb of Lihyan, Son of Kuza. It is made of all natural elements like yellow earth from Europe and red earth from the Middle East.

Designed to fade away in a matter of weeks, it underscores the urgency of protecting the historical places. Adding to the theme of protecting the heritage, Popa was keen to use environmentally friendly natural pigments, such as red and yellow soil, which decompose over time and leave no trace.

Embraced with the two earthy protective hands, the stone reserved its place on the UNESCO World Heritage list in the Kingdom. Moreover, there are Arabic decorations on the sleeves blending with the surrounding environment.
