Dab Cave Area in Water Theme Park to Open Next Year

Covering an area of 300,000 square meters, Dab Cave area is one of the attractions in Qiddiya Water Theme Park, reported Saudi Projects. The area is scheduled to open next year.

Qiddiya Water Theme Park

Al Qiddiya Investment Company awarded a SAR 2.8 billion ($750 million) contract for building the Kingdom’s first and largest water park in the region.

Alec Engineering and Contracting Company and El Seif Engineering Contracting Company won the contract to build the park. It will be one of the top entertainment destinations in Qiddiya and the future capital of entertainment, sports, and culture.

Nine Animal-Inspired Areas

The water park will cover an impressive area of ​​252,000 square meters and feature 22 games, 9 of which that will be the first of their kind globally. Visitors will also enjoy 9 innovatively designed areas, including the main gate, Camel Rock, Dune Cave, Wave Valley and the Cave. The design of these areas was inspired by local animals that lived in the Qiddiya. Additionally, the park will contain state-of-the-art facilities for water sports and 17 food and shopping outlets.

“The Qiddiya water theme park will be a year-round immersive family entertainment destination, the first of its kind and offering experiences that have never before been offered in Saudi,” said Abdullah bin Nasser Aldawood, board member and managing director at Qiddiya Investment Company.

The park will also utilize modern technologies to reduce water pressure on some attractions. Reducing the pressure will contribute to a 50% reduction in evaporation rates. Additionally, the pools at the end of the slides will rely on the concept of water flow, ensuring shallow pools with extremely high safety levels. Moreover, it will use less amounts of water compared to traditional deep pools used in other water parks.

Pillars of Water Theme Park

The Qiddiya project is based on several fundamental pillars, including sports, health, nature, environment, parks, entertainment destinations, motion, excitement, arts and culture. In addition, there is a diverse range of real estate options and community services. The water park will be one of the main attractions for the parks and entertainment destinations pillar.

Developing Qiddiya

Mohammed bin Salman, the Crown Prince, Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia  launched the urban plan for the city of Qiddiya and its global trade brand. The Crown Prince explained that Qiddiya will, in the near future, become the most prominent in the world in the field of entertainment, sports and culture.

This will reflect positively on the Saudi economy and its international position. It will strengthen the strategy of Riyadh and contribute to the growth of its economy to become one of the 10 largest economies of cities. He also added that this qualitative investment in “Qiddiya” is one of the pillars of Vision 2030. The vision aims to diversify the sources of income of the local economy and create thousands of job opportunities.
Qiddiya is an essential source of support for Saudi Arabia’s touristic and economic goals.

In addition, it will improve the quality of life for residents and visitors. It will contribute to attracting local, regional and international investors who will support the city of Riyadh. Work on the project has already begun, funneling approximately 10 billion Saudi riyals in construction projects
