Civil Aviation Holds Workshop to Nationalize Jobs in Air Transport Sector
The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) held a workshop, on Monday the 1st of February 2021, to localize jobs in the air transport sector, in the presence of the President of the General Authority for Civil Aviation, Abdul Hadi bin Ahmed Al-Mansoori, the President of the Public Transport Authority, and the Chairman of the Nationalization Committee of the Transport System.
Many chief executives and officials from representatives of companies operating in the civil aviation sector in the Kingdom attended the workshop held at the headquarters of the Authority in Riyadh.
The President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation stated that the authority is keen to support the strategies and sustainable development of air transport sector in order to ensure an increase in national economic growth and investment in various fields of the air transport sector.
He also stated that the authority aspires to reach leadership status in the global civil aviation industry as well as achieve high levels of productivity with the provision of advanced infrastructure and qualified personnel.
Furthermore he elaborated that the strategy of the civil aviation sector focuses on creating a global investment environment, which charts the future of the aviation sector in the Kingdom in order to become a regional and worldwide pioneer, by supporting the Saudi national economy.
Achieving development goals to raise the level of civil aviation at the regional and international levels is the aim, and support strategies and sustainable development of the air transport sector to ensure the escalation of national economic growth in the future and investment in various fields of the sector.
In addition to that, there is supporting productivity levels with the presence of the infrastructure through advanced facilities, modern technologies and qualified national cadres.
Al-Mansouri promised that the initiative will localize jobs in the air transport sector, through the fruit of cooperation with the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development in the public and private sectors. It aims to localize several jobs, indicating that the initiative aims to empower Saudi youth and give them the opportunity to work in their various sectors, whether in leadership, technical, administrative or operational positions.
The initiative believes in the role of Saudi youth in developing and strengthening the aviation sector, which has become a major role in all fields, in line with the 2030 Vision.
For his part, the President of the Public Transport Authority clarified in his speech that the transport sector, in particular air transport, is witnessing rapid growth in light of the generous support of the Kingdom’s government.
The clear vision was reflected in the remarkable development of the transport activities and industry in general, stressing the importance of national hands that have proven success stories for Saudis and Saudi women. They had the opportunity to challenge and succeed.
He stressed the importance of commitment to training and providing job opportunities for our children in order to sustain Emiratisation, support local content, and have clear targets for the localization of all sectors, indicating that the results will be impressive whenever national hands are given the opportunity.
After that, a number of executives and officials from representatives of companies operating in the civil aviation sector in the Kingdom participating in the workshop gave presentations addressing the importance of making the future of air transport in the hands of the nation’s youth and the extent of their participation in that industry, stressing that empowering the youth is the starting point for building qualified and capable human elements.
They indicated the need to adopt and implement initiatives to motivate, give job opportunities, meet the needs of human cadres specialized in the fields of aviation sciences, and develop the level of performance of workers in the fields of the air transport sector in accordance with international standards.
AMoreover, two agreements were signed within the operational plan of the air transport sector jobs nationalization project in the “Support and Incentives Program with Companies”, where Badr bin Sulaiman Al-Jared, assistant undersecretary of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development for Emiratisation, signed the two agreements, the first with Flynas and the second with Flyadeal.
Noteworthy, the workshop comes after the General Authority of Civil Aviation announced the launch of the initiative to localize jobs in the air transport sector, aiming to localize 10,000 jobs in various disciplines related to the aviation sector, which comes within the axis of strengthening the aviation sector, one of the goals of achieving the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
