CITC invites the public to submit their views on the National Frequency Spectrum System Project

The Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) invited the public to submit their views on the National Frequency Spectrum System project.

 

This project aims to regulate spectrum resource management at the national level.

 

It seeks to raise the efficiency of using the frequency spectrum.

 

The project enables the use of radio technologies for various sectors.

 

The Authority explained the most prominent elements of the National Spectrum System project, including the governance of spectrum use.

 

Additionally, it also includes a draft legal framework for the main activities of spectrum management.

 

The project distributes frequencies to various wireless services and applications.

 

It also aims to license the use of frequencies for wireless devices, to reduce harmful radio interference.

 

This system stems from the Authority’s role in managing the spectrum resource and raising the efficiency of its use in the Kingdom in accordance with international best practices.

 

Accordingly, this system seeks to preserve this limited resource to meet current and future needs.

 

The system aims to make the frequency spectrum available to all national security and military sectors, space, communications, transportation, media, and others.

 

The authority urges interested parties and the public to express their views and submit their suggestions, based on its interest in achieving clarity, transparency, and the involvement of all parties.
