Advantages of Draft Personal Status Law in KSA
“The system of specialized legislation announced by His Highness the Crown Prince in the field of personal status, civil transactions and discretionary penalties will reduce the discrepancy in judicial rulings, and strengthen the community members’ sense of justice and their confidence in the judicial authority,” stated the head of the Board of Grievances, Khaled Al-Youssef, as he explained the impact of the Personal Status Law, according to what was reported by the official Saudi News Agency.
He continued, “The specialized legislation will contribute to highlighting the depth and durability of the regulatory authority in the Kingdom, and reflects the level of progress and legislative development in it, which confirms its constant keenness on the principles of prompt justice, enhancing integrity and combating corruption.”
For his part, the Saudi Attorney General, Saud Al-Mujib, stated, “The announcement by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince to develop a system of specialized legislation is a unique qualitative leap in which the reasons that His Highness prefers with more family security and stability in light of its anticipated provisions.”
Al-Mujib added, “the procedural importance of the evidentiary system in drawing the rules are a way to establish rights, and the draft penal system is full of the most important human rights values and judicial principles by including the two pillars of criminalization and punishment in their integral details, including identifying criminal models in a way that prevents diversity of jurisprudence.”
