The Saudi Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, arrived in Washington on Wednesday on an official visit to the US, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
During the visit, Saudi Arabia’s top diplomat will meet with the US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio. Their talks will focus on reviewing bilateral relations and discussing the recent regional and international developments.
Prince Faisal’s visit to Washington comes on the heels of an official visit to Egypt, where he held high-stakes discussions with the Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, and Foreign Minister, Badr Abdelatty.
During their meeting, Prince Faisal and Al-Sisi discussed bilateral relations and the latest regional and international developments. Their discussions addressed several regional issues of mutual concern.
Moreover, the meeting underscored a Saudi-Egyptian alignment of positions on the imperative of reaching peaceful solutions to regional crises. They stressed that these solutions must preserve the unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of states, particularly in Sudan, Yemen, Somalia, and the Gaza Strip.
Furthermore, the Saudi Foreign Minister held a separate meeting with his Egyptian counterpart, during which they explored ways to strengthen bilateral relations across various fields and discussed the developments, particularly in the Gaza Strip, Yemen, Sudan, Somalia, as well as other issues of mutual interest.
