Industry Minister Secures Agreements at Shanghai Fair to Localize Aviation Industry

Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef visited the Saudi pavilion at the China International Industry Fair (CIIF) in Shanghai, held within Hannover Messe.
During his tour, he was briefed on the initiatives of the industrial and mineral resources ecosystem entities and the Ministry of Investment. These efforts highlight the Kingdom’s competitive investment environment, promising opportunities in industrial and mining sectors, investor enablers, and cultural showcases of Saudi heritage.
Exploring Global Innovation
Alkhorayef also toured several international pavilions, where he reviewed cutting-edge industrial solutions and smart manufacturing technologies, including robotics, automation, and industrial software.
On the sidelines of the exhibition, the minister met with leaders of Virtual Mind Holding (VMH), a global player in robotics and AI systems. Moreover, discussions focused on strengthening industrial cooperation, sharing expertise, and exploring opportunities to transfer advanced manufacturing technologies to Saudi Arabia.
Strategic Agreements
The minister witnessed the signing of three agreements between the National Industrial Development Center and leading Chinese companies: AVIC International, Lanshi Superalloy Company, and BMGK Company.
Signed by NIDC CEO Eng. Saleh Al-Solami, these agreements aim to localize aviation industry technologies within the Kingdom, supporting the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
Saudi-China Cooperation
Alkhorayef’s participation in the Shanghai fair forms part of his official visit to the People’s Republic of China. Finally, the visit seeks to expand strategic cooperation in the industrial and mining sectors while attracting high-quality investments to Saudi Arabia.
