Saudi Health Ministry Launches Seasonal Flu Vaccine Bookings via Sehhaty App

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health has unveiled that individuals can now book appointments for the seasonal influenza vaccine through the Sehhaty application, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

The ministry noted that the vaccine plays a pivotal role in mitigating the impact of seasonal influenza by decreasing the severity of infections, lowering the risk of complications requiring intensive care, and reducing associated mortality rates.

Moreover, the ministry indicated that those most vulnerable to influenza-related complications are individuals with chronic illnesses, people taking immunosuppressive medications, adults over 50, and children between six months and five years.

Pregnant women, individuals with obesity, and healthcare workers are also at the risk of having influenza-related complications.

Last year, 96% of ICU patients had not received the vaccine — a clear message that vaccination truly reduces severe illness and prevents complications.
