SGS Invests in Future with “Tomooh” and “Jadeer” Programs

The Saudi Geological Survey (SGS) has launched two ambitious initiatives to elevate national expertise in Earth sciences. The launch, led by CEO Abdullah Al-Shamrani, included key SGS leaders and personnel. The “Tomooh” and “Jadeer” programs aim to build capacities and improve the quality of national competencies in Earth sciences.

Aligning with Vision 2030 Goals

Moreover, the “Tomooh” program aligns with the Human Capability Development Program under Vision 2030. It focuses on sending qualified Saudi nationals to pursue advanced degrees in Earth sciences at world-class institutions. By investing in higher education, SGS aims to cultivate a new generation of experts who can drive innovation and growth in the Kingdom’s mining sector.

“Jadeer” Program Offers Specialized Training

Launching in 2025, the “Jadeer” program provides practical training to SGS staff, developing expertise in specialized Earth science disciplines. The inaugural module, “Medical Geology Maps,” trains participants in creating and analyzing these vital tools.

The training spans five months in three phases:

Phase One: Conducted in Riyadh over three weeks.

Phase Two: Held in Tunisia for three weeks.

Phase Three: Delivered in Nottingham, UK, for six weeks, including on-the-job training at SGS headquarters.

However, the SGS Academy will oversee these programs, emphasizing innovation, skill development, and excellence. These initiatives reflect SGS’s commitment to fostering a highly skilled workforce capable of addressing complex challenges and opportunities in Earth sciences.
