Minister of Education Opens 1st Tech Secondary School for Gifted Students at Tuwaiq Academy
The Minister of Education, Mr. Youssef Al-Bunyan, inaugurated the Technical Secondary School for Gifted Boys at Tuwaiq Academy, the first government school specializing in technology in the Kingdom. The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Eng. Abdullah Al-Swaha, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tuwaiq Academy, Mr. Faisal bin Saud Al-Khamisi, and several educational and technological leaders.
Technical School for Gifted Students
The inauguration of the Technical School for Gifted Students represents a pioneering global model aimed at developing students’ skills, enhancing their technological capabilities, and empowering them to build and innovate in distinctive technological projects. The school focuses on learning and scientific research, preparing students for technological specializations locally and internationally. Additionally, this initiative contributes to preparing a generation that keeps pace with future technological advancements, elevates the level of technical education in the Kingdom, and represents the nation in regional and international competitions and exhibitions.
The Director of Education in the Riyadh region, Dr. Nayef bin Abed Al-Zarea, praised the distinguished partnership between the Ministry of Education and Tuwaiq Academy, aimed at enhancing the role of technology in the lives of our students. This collaboration resulted in the launch of the first technology school for gifted students. He emphasized that technology has become an integral part of daily life and is one of the most important tools for today’s generation to keep pace with the technological future.
Tuwaiq Academy
For his part, the CEO of Tuwaiq Academy, Abdulaziz bin Ahmed Al-Hammadi, highlighted the significance of the strategic partnership between the academy and the Ministry of Education as a key pillar in advancing technical educational curricula. He commended the achievements of the School for Gifted Students in Technology during the current year, noting that students obtained more than 120 professional certifications from major global companies in the first semester.
The visit of the Minister of Education and the Minister of Communications and Information Technology included the School for Gifted Students in Technology at Tuwaiq Academy and a tour of the academy’s facilities. During the visit, they reviewed several bootcamps, programs, and activities. His Excellency also met with the school’s students and was briefed on the progress of the educational process and the accomplishments achieved by the school.
Technical Programs
The school’s activities include a variety of specialized technical programs in several fields such as programming, cybersecurity, digital manufacturing, data science, and other modern technologies. Additionally, it offers a set of ongoing enhancement programs aimed at improving students’ performance in aptitude and achievement tests as well as their personal and academic skills. The school also provides extracurricular technical programs and activities, innovative curricula, and fosters innovation and scientific research within a stimulating and competitive environment.
