The Kingdom has to its credit from its previous competitions in this Olympics 6 international awards (4 bronze medals and two certificates of appreciation). The participation this year comes through a strategic partnership between the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity “Mawhiba” and the Ministry of Education. Additionally, the competition will be sponsored by Elm Company.
Outstanding students compete on an individual basis, with participation available to only four students from each country. Moreover, each competitor is required to analyze programming problems, design algorithms, data structures, and test.
Finally, the Informatics Olympiad is considered one of the most prestigious computer science competitions in the world. It is one of the five International Science Olympiads organized around the world annually. It is also the second largest scientific competition after the International Mathematics Olympiad in terms of the number of participating countries.
