New projects were launched by the Deputy Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources for Industrial Affairs, Engineer Khalil bin Salama.
The projects included laying the foundation stone for the continuation of the infrastructure development of the first phase in the third industrial city in Jeddah, with a value exceeding 367 million riyals. This is part of the initiatives assigned to “MODON'” in the National Industrial Development and Logistics Program (NDLP).
The projects included a 10,000-cubic-meter wastewater treatment plant for over 1,226 factories in Jeddah’s Second Industrial City. They also implemented a 400,000-square-meter irrigation network and launched emergency medical services in Jeddah’s Second and Third Industrial Cities.
This aligns with advancements in the industrial sector and supports the goals of the National Industrial Strategy and Saudi Vision 2030 by expanding production capacities, transferring and localizing specialized industries. Moreover, it attracts both local and foreign investments.
It is noted that the second and third industrial cities in Jeddah have experienced significant growth in the number of factories since 2018, with an increase of over 200%. The volume of industrial investments has surpassed 30 billion riyals.
Additionally, the number of direct jobs has grown by more than 10,000 for citizens in the industrial and service sectors, including 1,600 female jobs.
Investment Environment
“MODON” is dedicated to creating an ideal investment environment to empower the Kingdom’s industry. Moreover, the developed industrial land now exceeds 209 million square meters, with over 7,900 industrial contracts and 6,443 industrial facilities.
