Prince of Riyadh Launches 25 New Parks across 18 Neighborhoods in Riyadh

Prince of the Riyadh Region, attended this evening the inauguration ceremony of 25 parks distributed across 18 neighborhoods in Riyadh.

Upon his arrival at the Canary Park in Al-Hamra neighborhood, Riyadh, for the inauguration ceremony, he was received by His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Abdulaziz bin Ayyaf, Mayor of the region.

New Gardens in Riyadh

His Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar, in a statement for this occasion, expressed his happiness to sponsor such an event, presenting these gardens to Riyadh, which were developed by the region’s municipality with thorough study and modern designs. He affirmed that these efforts are guided and supported by the leadership to maintain Riyadh’s high quality of life.

His Highness pointed out that the work on these gardens were based on comprehensive planning and study, making them a gift to the residents of the neighborhoods.

Progress in Riyadh

His Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar said, “We are taking good steps in Riyadh, with the municipality, government sector, and private sector each playing their roles. This synergy makes us proud of this level of achievement.” He thanked the Mayor and the municipal workers for their dedicated efforts.

Specifications of 25 Gardens

 Engineer Al-Turki stated that the 25 parks span over 229,917 square meters. Specifically, this area includes public spaces, green zones, and over 10,126 trees. Additionally, there are more than 21,000 meters of walkways and bike paths. Furthermore, he highlighted the completion of various service projects.

These encompass residential gardens, specialty gardens, and carrying out upgrades to squares and historical sites.

Visual Presentation, Agreements

Subsequently, the Prince of Riyadh Region viewed a presentation about the new gardens and their future expansions. He also saw how these gardens involve community participation. Following this, an agreement was signed. Importantly, the agreement was between the region’s municipality and the Cooperative Insurance Company to build a public park.

The Prince recognized several contributors to the city’s gardens. These include King Abdulaziz Public Library, ‘For Them’ Association, and ‘Efficiency’ Association for Civil Operation and Maintenance.

Tour of Canary Park

Subsequently, the Prince of Riyadh Region toured the landmarks of Canary Park in Al-Hamra neighborhood and laid the commemorative stone for the inaugurated gardens.

Parks with World-Class Designs

The inaugurated parks, covering a total area of 230,000 square meters with 75,000 square meters of green spaces, are part of an initiative to expand specialty gardens. It significantly increase green spaces, and develop and humanize them with modern designs to enhance the quality of life in residential neighborhoods. This contributes to the Riyadh Green Initiative.
