Khalid Al-Faisal reviews the programs of the “Saudi Urban Sciences”

His Royal Highness Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Governor of the Makkah Al-Mukarramah Region, received Eng. Muhammad Al-Director, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Society for Urban Sciences, accompanied by members of the Council, at the Emirate’s headquarters in Jeddah.

His Highness listened to an explanation of the association’s goals, which include promoting urban thought and practice, as well as spreading urban awareness, through the revival and development of the Islamic architectural intellectual heritage, which includes documenting, analyzing, and evaluating traditional buildings and urban formations while looking for ways to preserve them.

In addition to developing a distinct identity for the Saudi urban environment that is linked to the local natural and climatic environment and meets the needs of the community, providing advice and conducting necessary studies to improve professional performance in the institution and various urban authorities.

He reviewed the association’s activities during the meeting, including conducting scientific research in its field of interest, publishing research results, disseminating and exchanging them with relevant bodies, holding conferences and seminars to discuss urbanization issues, presenting seminars, intensive courses, and organizing scientific and cultural competitions.
