UN praises the Kingdom’s support for development projects across the globe

Amina Mohammed, Deputy Secretary-General of the UN, complimented the Kingdom’s contribution to UN development initiatives across the globe, emphasizing the Kingdom’s exceptional success in empowering women, which still requires more effort on a global scale.

This took place during the second meeting of the Steering Committee for Sustainable Development, which was conducted in the presence of members of the steering committee from 18 government departments and chaired by Minister Economy and Planning Faisal Al-Ibrahim.

“The Kingdom is striving to accomplish the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which are aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals since the goals contribute to tackling numerous difficulties confronting the whole globe and finding the required solutions to realize them fully,” Al-Ibrahim said.

The Deputy Secretary-General of the UN for the Kingdom commended the Kingdom on the establishment of the Steering Committee for Sustainable Development, which will monitor progress toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

Natalie Fausti, the UN Resident Coordinator in the Kingdom, underlined the UN’s desire to enhance its long-term collaboration with the Kingdom by sharing experiences and knowledge, as well as to promote the Kingdom’s attainment of the UN 2030 Agenda.

The UN also looks forward to benefiting from this relationship and sharing it with other countries in the quest for global sustainable development.
