UAE Sends Incoming Missile Alert for Dubai, Then Tells Public to Disregard It
UAE authorities sent a missile alert for Dubai on Friday, warning residents of an incoming threat, before issuing a second alert instructing the public to disregard the initial one, according to Arab News.
Authorities issued an all-clear alert a few minutes later but did not provide any details. The reason behind the initial alert, issued shortly after 5:15 p.m. local time, was not immediately known.
On Thursday, a tanker off the coast of Oman was targeted in a suspected Iranian drone attack which signals Tehran’s ongoing efforts to assert its control over the Strait of Hormuz despite the current interim truce in the Iran war.
