UAE intercepts a Houthi ballistic missile: Defense Ministry

UAE Ministry of Defense reported on Sunday the intercept and destruction of a ballistic missile launched against the country by the terrorist Houthi militia.

According to the ministry, no lives were lost in the strike since the ballistic missile’s fragments fell outside of populous regions.

The Ministry of Defense claimed that its air defenses intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile launched towards the nation by the Houthi terrorist organization.

It went on to say that the air force and coalition leadership were able to destroy the launch location and platform in Yemen after successfully identifying hostile facilities. “It is ready to deal with any threats,” the ministry stated.

Last Monday, Abu Dhabi declared that its defenses had intercepted and destroyed two ballistic missiles launched by the Iran-backed Houthis. The incident came a week after three people were killed in an attack on Abu Dhabi by drones and missiles.

It is worth noting that the UAE had called on the international community to take immediate and decisive action to stop the Houthis’ actions following an attack on vital and civilian facilities on its territory, emphasizing that such actions endanger country security, energy supplies, and global economic stability.

It also emphasized that the current continuance of these assaults is a dangerous escalation and additional proof of the militias’ efforts to destabilize regional security and peace.

It is worth noting that the UN Security Council denounced the Houthi terrorist strikes in the UAE and Saudi Arabia last Friday, emphasizing the need of combating threats to world peace.
