Tajikistan expresses support for the Kingdom’s request to host Expo 2030
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, may God protect him, received a written message from President Emomali Rahmon of the Republic of Tajikistan, regarding the strong and solid fraternal bilateral relations that bind the two countries and peoples, and the ways to support and enhance them in various fields and at all levels.
The President of the Republic of Tajikistan expressed his country’s support for the Kingdom’s request to host the Expo 2030 in Riyadh.
The message was received by Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, when he received today at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council in Riyadh, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin.
During the reception, they discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways of enhancing them in various fields, in addition to exchanging views on regional and international issues of common interest.
Saudi – Tajikistan relations
The peoples of Tajikistan and Saudi Arabia are bound by lofty cultural, and spiritual values and historical and cultural ties that span more than a thousand years.
From this point of view, in the early nineties of the twentieth century, the Kingdom took the initiative to recognize the sovereignty of Tajikistan to be at the forefront of the countries of the Islamic and Arab world that established cooperation relations after declaring their independence, as diplomatic relations were established between the two countries on February 22, 1992.
Since that event, the two parties have moved forward towards continuing the path of constructive, mutually beneficial, and steady cooperation relations at the political, economic, and social levels, based on the foundation of friendship and traditional brotherhood, good understanding, sincere trust, and mutual respect.
Tajikistan considers the friendly Kingdom to be its important partner in the Arab world and the Middle East. It pays constant and great care to strengthen and develop multi-faceted relations with it and seeks to strengthen ties of solidarity, cooperation, and distinguished relations for the benefit of the people of the two countries.
On the political level, Tajikistan and Saudi Arabia maintain continuous contact at the highest levels to this day, which represents an important factor in creating new opportunities for cooperation in many fields.
It should be noted that both countries have similar or similar positions on the most important issues of international politics, as they cooperate closely within the framework of international organizations, including the UN, the OIC, and other specialized organizations.
