The Saudi Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka has crossed a major milestone, welcoming more than two million visitors since opening in April. As the largest foreign pavilion at the expo—and second in size only to Japan’s—it has become a standout attraction.
Visitors to the pavilion enjoy an immersive journey into the Kingdom’s heritage through interactive halls, exhibitions, and open spaces. The pavilion has hosted over 2,400 activities, including 2,000 within its own space and 400 across the expo’s largest venues, celebrating Saudi Arabia’s cultural, economic, and civilizational influence.
Diplomatic, Cultural Significance
Saudi Ambassador to Japan and Commissioner General of the Pavilion, Ghazi Faisal Binzagr, described the achievement as a source of pride. He emphasized that the milestone reflects the depth of Saudi Arabia’s global relationships and the Kingdom’s ongoing transformation, presenting the pavilion as a “living heartbeat” of Saudi culture and progress.
Visitor Highlights, Records
On June 17, the pavilion recorded its highest daily attendance with 24,142 visitors. Its signature restaurant and café, Irth, has also drawn significant attention, serving over 18,000 guests and more than 120,000 cups of coffee—cementing its role as a must-visit destination at the expo.
Architectural Landmark
Designed by Foster + Partners, the pavilion is recognized as an architectural icon. Its design delivers a multisensory experience that captures Saudi Arabia’s heritage, sustainability ambitions, and dedication to community empowerment.
International Recognition
The pavilion’s innovative design has earned international acclaim, including a Gold Award at the New York Architectural Design Awards in the category of Cultural Architecture – Interactive and Experiential Spaces. This recognition highlights its global standing as a model of innovation and excellence.
Events at the Saudi Pavilion will continue until the expo closes in mid-October. For those unable to attend in person, the pavilion is also accessible through Expo 2025 Osaka’s virtual platform, offering a deeper exploration of Saudi heritage and culture.
