Under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the third edition of Saudi Games 2024 will kick off in Boulevard City in Riyadh, with the participation of a host of athletes.
The largest sports event in Saudi Arabia will take place from October 3-17, 2024, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

More than 9,000 male and female athletes will compete for medals in 52 different sporting events, including 7 Paralympic sports, 10 demonstration sports, and 15 youth sports.
The big event features a wide range of sporting competitions, such as competitive activities, such as athletics, badminton, basketball, cycling, golf, jujitsu, padel, rugby, sailing and swimming.
Paralympic sports at the Saudi Games 2024 include Boccia, Futsal for the deaf, wheelchair basketball, para-powerlifting, para-athletics, and para-table tennis. Additionally, the youth sports include robotics, skateboarding, e-sports, and jet skiing.
The Saudi Games 2024 offers generous prizes exceeding SAR 200mn. Gold medalists will receive SAR 1mn; silver medalists SAR 300,000; and bronze medalists SAR 100,000.
Meanwhile, gold medalists in the youth category will receive SAR 100,000; silver medalists SAR 50,000; and bronze medalists SAR 25,000.

On this occasion, the Saudi Minister of Sports, President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee (SOPC) and the Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, expressed gratitude to King Salman for his patronage that reflects the Saudi leadership’s commitment to supporting the sports sector.
He added that this sponsorship also reflects the leadership’s interest in empowering athletes to represent Saudi Arabia in regional and international forums.
In a press statement, Prince Abdulaziz said this support demonstrates the reality of sports in the Kingdom. “Saudi Arabia is steadily moving towards achieving the aspirations and goals of Saudi Vision 2030, which has propelled sports in our beloved homeland to continue to excel and develop, making the Kingdom a hub for sporting events,” he said.

Moreover, the Minister of Sports highlighted the significance of the Saudi Games 2024. He said: “Hosting the Saudi Games for the third consecutive year establishes the Kingdom’s position, regionally and globally.”
He added: “It also aligns with our efforts to enhance the competitiveness of Saudi sports to create a promising generation of athletes who will represent Saudi Arabia in regional and global events.”
