The Saudi-Canadian economic relations have entered a new phase after a six-year pause in trade delegation activities, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The Saudi-Canadian Business Council, representing the Federation of Saudi Chambers, has held a roundtable meeting in Toronto, during a visit to Canada.
The meeting saw the attendance of the Saudi Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar Al-Khorayef; Saudi Ambassador to Canada, Amal Al-Moalimi; and President of the Saudi-Canadian Business Council, Mohammed bin Nasser Al-Dulaim; in addition to several investors.
Discussions at the meeting focused on investment opportunities in Saudi Arabia and Canada across various strategic sectors, including mining and industries related to Saudi Vision 2030.
Furthermore, the meeting witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish a Saudi-Canadian company to design and manufacture complex structures for entertainment and sports events.
The Saudi-Canadian Business Council President, Mohammed bin Nasser Al-Dulaim, highlighted the successes achieved by the Council during its visit to Canada. These included productive talks with major Canadian companies, signing business partnerships, and inaugurating an office in Toronto.
The Business Council’s visit to Canada coincides with Al-Khorayef’s visit to the country to explore expanding trade and investment opportunities between Saudi and Canadian business communities, after years of suspended trade missions and delegation activities.
In July, the Federation of Saudi Chambers approved the final formation of the Saudi-Canadian Business Council, in a new milestone in restoring the economic relations between Saudi Arabia and Canada.
