Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, welcomed U.S. Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, in Riyadh on Monday Feb 17, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
Both officials reviewed the Saudi-US relations and discussed ways to strengthen the bilateral cooperation.
During their meeting, they also delved into the latest regional and international developments and pivotal efforts made in this regard.
Crucially, the meeting highlighted the attendance of Saudi Ambassador to the US Princess Reema bint Bandar, Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs Prince Musab bin Mohammed Al-Farhan, as well as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs Ambassador Dr. Saud Al-Sati.
Rubio’s visit comes ahead of an expected meeting of senior officials from the US, Russia and Ukraine in Saudi Arabia to hold summit aiming at kickstarting negotiations on ending the Russia-Ukraine war.
