Saudi FM Calls for Peace, Cooperation at ACD Summit

Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, represented Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman at the Third Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) Summit in Doha. The summit, held on Thursday, highlighted Saudi Arabia’s role in fostering dialogue and cooperation across Asia.

Promoting Cooperation and Peaceful Solutions

In his speech, Prince Faisal expressed gratitude to Qatar for its hospitality and conveyed greetings from King Salman. He also extended greetings from Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, emphasizing the importance of regional cooperation among Asian nations.

Prince Faisal highlighted the significance of the ACD platform in fostering dialogue across political, economic, and cultural sectors. He addressed ongoing regional challenges, particularly in Lebanon and Palestine, which have caused significant instability and unrest.

He stressed that these persistent political and security tensions obstruct development efforts and disrupt international trade activities. “The continued aggression and violations severely impact global trade while threatening the flow of international investments,” he stated.

Support for a Two-State Solution

Prince Faisal reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s support for peaceful conflict resolution. He thanked ACD members for backing the two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and encouraged other nations to follow suit. “We urge the world to support the international coalition to implement this solution,” he added.

The Role of Sports Diplomacy

Highlighting the role of sports in diplomacy, Prince Faisal stated Saudi Arabia believes in sports as a tool for fostering dialogue and supporting stability. “The Kingdom is committed to hosting major sporting events to strengthen this sector and promote peace,” he remarked.

Saudi Delegation in Attendance

The Saudi delegation included Ambassador to Qatar Prince Mansour bin Khalid bin Farhan, Director General of the Foreign Minister’s Office Abdulrahman Aldawood, and Director of the Department of Federations, Groups, and Specialized Organizations Fares Al-Otaibi. The summit reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to fostering cooperation and resolving regional conflicts through peaceful means.
