A Saudi female achieves success in the World Cup for Cross-Country Rally in Hungary
Saudi driver Dania Aqeel crowned her first participation in an international event to be held in Europe, by taking second place in the T3 category.
This was within the sixth round of the World Cup for Cross-Country Rally “Baha”, which was held in Hungary, consolidating its lead in this category in the general standings.
Aqeel set the second-fastest time in the first pass for a distance of 88.30 km and took second place overall in her class.
Aqeel deserved second place in her category in her first European “Baha” in Hungary, which was held over a total distance of 861 km, of which 682 km was a “special stage”.
20 drivers representing some countries participated in this event, including many Saudis, such as Yasser bin Saedan, Yazid Al-Rajhi, and Saleh Al-Saif, and the cyclists Haitham Al-Tuwaijri and Faisal Al-Suwaih.
Baha Hungary
Aqeel participated in the “Baha” Hungary, which spanned over three competitive days, alongside French expert navigator Charles Kaipers.
Saudi Racing Team Harmony
Aqeel told Al Arabiya.net: “After reaching the finish line of Baja Hungary in Varpalota, I am very happy that I managed to reach the second place and get some points to add to the tournament. Charles and I were in great harmony today, and he was clear and direct in turn. and meticulously.”
By occupying 14th place with navigator Charles Kuiper, Aqeel scored points that qualify her for the BAHA World Championships in the next tournament.
