Saudi evacuates citizens from South Korea after widespread of coronavirus

The Saudi Ambassador to South Korea, Riyad Al-Mubaraki, announced to the Saudi channel of Al-Arabiya the evacuation of a number of Saudi students in the city of “Daegu” in South Korea, after discovering a number of infections with the new Corona virus in the city itself.

The embassy moved them to Seoul, the capital of South Korea, after constant contact with students during the last period, and since the discovery of a number of injuries in the city.

The students continued to be evacuated to one of the hotels near the embassy in the Korean capital, and then evacuated via Inchon Airport to Abu Dhabi Airport and from there to Saudi Arabia, through King Fahd Airport in Dammam and others through King Khalid Airport in Riyadh.

Al-Mubaraki was reassured about the health of the evacuated students, stressing that they had no symptoms.

95  students are pursuing their graduate studies in Korea, in addition to 115 scholarship students, 80 who are studying at their own expense, and the embassy and its technical offices, which number about 70, with their families, as well as 232 employees with their families in the Saudi Aramco branch in Korea.

The Saudi embassy in South Korea is continuously and around the clock following with the competent authorities in Korea and assessing the situation in terms of the spread of the virus in the country.
