The previous study planning guide for the Qur’an and Islamic studies, which was published in the previous academic year, has been suspended by the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Education.
It started working on a newly developed guide for the study plans for the current year.
The Ministry directed all schools to stop working with the old manual on study plans that were approved last year.
The ministry has ordered schools to start working this year following the developed study plans guide issued by the ministry on Sunday.
According to the Ministry, this newly created guide represents the second stage of creating study plans and is compatible with work done using the three-semester method that the Ministry has approved since the previous academic year.
The Holy Qur’an and Islamic Studies subject was coupled with the subject of Islamic studies in the elementary and intermediate phases of instruction, according to the guide.
The total of its classes was reduced from 34 classes in the intermediate stage to 15 weekly classes, as well as the number of its classes in the primary stage was reduced from 38 classes to 30 weekly classes.
