Saudi coach seeks to win the first women’s football championship in the Kingdom

Maram Root told Al-Arabiya.net: “I started working as a football coach for children in 2016, until I got an international accredited training license, and started training at (Shoala Al-Sharqiya) club, which is the oldest Saudi women’s club.

About her drive towards training, she says: “I grew up in a family that loved football, and this motivated me to watch matches and practice this sport. This hobby continued until I started training children, so I decided at the time that I should devote myself to this task, which is training and teaching the basics of football.

She stated that she has previously participated in a number of international tournaments in the UAE, France, Bahrain, and other countries, and that she is striving with her team to win the first edition of the women’s league championship in Saudi Arabia.

She concluded her talk about the sports environment for women, calling community and families, to encourage girls and enables them to get this experience that is in the interest of our country.

It is noteworthy that the Saudi Football Association had previously announced the establishment of the first edition of the Women’s Football League this year, with the participation of several teams from various regions of Saudi Arabia.
