

According to the Authority for Architecture and Design, the inaugural iteration of the “Designathon” competition, which was hosted in the capital city of Riyadh, has already come to an end.
The authority crowned winners in the three tracks of the challenge: Design for Healthy Living, Design for Social Impact, and Design for Sustainability.
The competition, which aims to produce cutting-edge solutions for the design industry, attracted more than 500 competitors who exhibited a wide range of works over the course of three days.
Of these participants, 30 teams qualified for the final stage and presented their designs to the jury, which chose the winners in the three tracks.
As for the design track for public health, the Sabeel team won first place and was awarded a prize of SAR 100,000.
 The second place was awarded to the rainy team, which was awarded 50 thousand riyals. Finally, third place was won by the Step by Step team, which was rewarded with SAR 25,000.
In the Design to Achieve Social Impact track, the Dream Team won first place and was awarded a prize of 100,000 riyals.
The second place belongs to “Rans Team” and was awarded 50,000 riyals. Finally, third place was won by the Hayyak team, which was awarded 25,000 riyals.
In the Design for Sustainability track, the Wasm team won first place and was awarded a prize of 100,000 riyals.
Second place was awarded to the “Table Mo1” team, which was given 50,000 riyals. Finally, third place was won by the “Waste No More” team, which was awarded 25,000 riyals.
Designathon provided an opportunity for the participating teams to benefit from experts in these fields through a rich program of dialogue sessions and workshops.
It is noteworthy that the “Designathon” over the course of three years witnessed many dialogue sessions and workshops that raised the quality of the outputs of this edition.
