Saudi Arabia to Take Part in Venice Biennale International Art Exhibition 2026

Saudi Arabia will take part in the 61st International Art Exhibition of the Venice Biennale 2026 to highlight the Kingdom’s evolving artistic scene, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

Set to take place from May 9 to November 22, 2026, in Venice, Italy, the exhibition will feature exhibitions, installations, performances, and collateral projects from all over the world.

The Saudi Visual Arts Commission has organized the National Pavilion of Saudi Arabia to officially represent the Kingdom in this prestigious event.

The commission has also selected Saudi artist Dana Awartani to showcase its magnificent works on this global stage.

Through her authentic approach of artistic expression, Awartani will invite global audience to deeply explore the Kingdom’s cultural heritage and the revival of traditional crafts.

By participating in the 2026 edition, Awartani has secured her place in history as the fourth artist to represent Saudi Arabia at the Biennale.

This selection also stands as a testament to Saudi Arabia’s efforts to empower women and strengthen their presence in global events.

Director of Art Jameel Antonia Carver will curate the pavilion’s artistic content in collaboration with Assistant Curator Hafsa Al-Khudairi.

Notably, the upcoming edition will mark the Kingdom’s fifth participation in the International Art Exhibition of the Venice Biennale.

The Visual Arts Commission announced that it will reveal details of Awartani’s artworks that will be on display during the exhibition in 2026.
