Saudi Arabia temporarily suspends Umrah for citizens and residents in the Kingdom
The Saudi Ministry of Interior announced today, Wednesday, the suspension of Umrah pilgrimages temporarily to citizens and residents in the Kingdom, provided that the decision is reviewed continuously and the work is suspended whenever the reasons are not resolved.
A source in the ministry confirmed that “the preventive decision comes among the precautionary measures that the Kingdom’s government has consistently taken to limit the spread of Corona, and to prevent its access to the two holy shrines, which witness a permanent and heavy flow of human crowds, which makes the issue of securing these crowds of utmost importance.”
He pointed out that it “comes in line with the precautionary measures taken by the Saudi authorities to prevent the spread of the virus in the Kingdom, and to complement the efforts that have been taken, aimed at providing maximum protection for the safety of citizens and residents.”
