Saudi Arabia Secures Board Seat at WAKO Asia Kickboxing Confederation

Saudi Arabia has secured representation on the board of the Asian Kickboxing Confederation (WAKO Asia) after Ahmed AlTowayan, President of the Saudi Kickboxing Federation, was elected to a four-year term, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

Held during the confederation’s General Assembly meeting, the elections were conducted virtually under the leadership of WAKO Asia President Nasser Nassiri.

The meeting brought together several representatives of national federations from across the continent.

This remarkable achievement stands as a testament to the growing standing Saudi sport has achieved on both the continental and international stages, alongside rising confidence in Saudi expertise to help shape and advance combat sports across Asia.

Commenting on this milestone, AlTowayan said the appointment fosters Saudi Arabia’s growing and unique presence within the international kickboxing arena.

He also noted that the appointment “reflects the confidence Saudi Arabia now enjoys on both the Asian and global sports stages.”

AlTowayan further pledged to share Saudi Arabia’s distinctive experience and expertise, seeking to support the development of kickboxing, enhance Asian federations, and meet the aspirations of athletes across the continent.
