Saudi Arabia Grants Amnesty for Runaway Workers: Correct Your Status Now

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD) announced a 60-day grace period for runaway workers. The campaign allows foreign workers to correct their legal status through the Qiwa platform between Dec. 1 and Jan. 29, 2025.

Workers with absence reports can transfer their services to another employer during this period. The Qiwa platform urged eligible workers to act swiftly before the January 29 deadline.

Stabilizing Labor Relations

The initiative aims to enhance labor stability and provide workers an opportunity to correct their status. The ministry emphasized that workers in Saudi Arabia must utilize this period to ensure compliance with labor regulations.

The Qiwa platform offers digital services to protect employers’ and employees’ rights. It aims to create a stable, attractive working environment for all contractual parties.

The platform enables workers to transfer their services digitally and access various employment-related services. Workers will receive text notifications about the opportunity to correct their legal status.

Additionally, workers can request a salary or experience certificate through their Qiwa Individuals account. This service is free and requires no additional conditions.

Steps to Obtain Job Certificates

Workers can log into the Qiwa platform, select job certificates, and request the required type. The system verifies job details with the employer before issuing the certificate.

This streamlined process aims to improve transparency and provide essential employment documentation for workers.
