Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources and Chairman of the Manufacturing Vaccines and Vital Medicines Committee Bandar bin Ibrahim Alkhorayef has commended the pharmaceutical and medical device industries in Saudi Arabia, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Alkhorayef stated that the pharmaceutical and medical device industries are among the most promising industrial sectors in the Kingdom.
As one of the industries highlighted by the National Industrial Strategy (NIS), the Kingdom is paying exceptional attention to this sector in order to achieve the pharmaceutical and health security.
Saudi Arabia has embarked on a wide series of reforms and initiatives to ensure the Saudi full independency in this sector through securing the medical needs and building professional industrial capacities.
During his visit to Brazil’s Butantan Institute, Alkhorayef said that the Kingdom aspires to be a prestigious and pioneering hub in this promising sector.
The minister also held several meetings with Brazilian investors and businessmen stressing that Brazil is well-positioned to sign partnerships with Saudi Arabia in all industries outlined by the NIS, including pharmaceuticals and vaccines.
He also mentioned that Brazil has advanced experiences in pharmaceutical and medical device industries.
Alkhorayef underscored that both countries have a golden opportunity to leverage the strengths of both sides, especially in promoting supply chains, fostering technological exchange and boosting innovation to achieve economic resilience and sustainable development.
