Saudi Arabia condemns Iran-backed attacks against US forces in Iraq
The Saudi Cabinet affirmed, during a meeting chaired by King Salman bin Abdulaziz on Tuesday that the Kingdom is keen on the unity, sovereignty, stability and cohesion of Syria.
During the meeting, the cabinet discussed the final statement of the meeting of “representatives of the independents of the forces of the Syrian revolution and opposition”, which was held in Riyadh, with the participation of Syrian national figures from all components of the Syrian people, according to the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The Cabinet referred to what the aforementioned the statement contained from the affirmation of the importance of the political process to achieve a political transition in accordance with international resolutions, condemnation of terrorism in all its forms, and demanding the exit of foreign forces and militias, particularly the Iranian one.
Also, during its meeting today, the Saudi Cabinet condemned the attacks against the American forces present in Iraq.
The official Saudi Press Agency said that the cabinet expressed the kingdom’s condemnation of the attacks by terrorist organizations backed by the Iranian regime against the US forces present in Iraq within the international coalition to confront ISIS.
The cabinet stressed that these attacks “violate the sovereignty of Iraq, affect its security and stability, and directly affect efforts to combat terrorism,”.
