Saudi Arabia assumes G20 presidency from December 1

Starting from Sunday December 1st 2019, Saudi Arabia will begin its chairmanship of the G20, which will run until the end of November 2020, when the G20 leaders’ summit will take place in Riyadh , the Saudi channel of Al-Arabyia reported.

Al new logo has been designed for the upcoming G20 summit in Saudi Arabia, according to the National.

During its chairmanship of the G20, Saudi Arabia will work on the plan of “seizing the opportunities of the 21st century for all”, which includes three main themes: human empowerment, preservation of land, and formation of new horizons.

Paving the way for the G20 summit in Saudi Arabia, the country has invited several Arab and foreign countries, as well as regional and international organizations, to attend more than 100 meetings and conferences to be held during the preparation year of the summit, Al-Arabyia channel reported.

The chairmanship of G20 was delivered to Saudi Arabia on Saturday at a ceremony in the Japanese city of Nagoya.

On the G20 summit that is planned to take place in Saudi Arabia in November 2020, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman said that Kingdom’s hosting of the G20 will play an important role in highlighting the MENA perspective. “We believe this is a unique opportunity to forge a global consensus on international issues,” he said

Commenting on Saudi’s host to the upcoming G20, his Royal Highness the Crown Prince, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, said that the Kingdom is committed to continue work launched from Osaka (where the last G20 took place) and to promote global consensus

He added that the Kingdom’s hosting of the G20 will play an important role in highlighting the MENA perspective.

 “We believe this is a unique opportunity to form a global consensus on international issues,” he said.
