Robots provide advice and answers to pilgrims during Hajj
The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has launched a guidance robot, to serve the pilgrims, in conjunction with this year’s Hajj season.
In a statement, it confirmed that the robot answers the pilgrims’ questions and requests for fatwas, especially concerning performing rituals, with simultaneous translation available in 11 languages.
The robot can communicate with the sheikhs remotely, in addition to translating into “English, French, Russian, Persian, as well as Turkish, Malay, Urdu, Chinese, Bengali, and Hausa.”
The robot, supported by artificial intelligence technology, provides translation via a 21-inch touch screen; Where it can be used, to obtain some services of interest to visitors to the Grand Mosque.
The robot has a movement system based on 4 wheels, which came equipped with an intelligent stopping system so that it can be moved smoothly and flexible
It also contains a high-resolution front and bottom camera system, without clarity in the transmission of the image, which allows capturing a surrounding image of the place.
there are headphones with high sound clarity, and a microphone with high pickup quality, which allows clear sound transmission,
The robot works on a wireless network system (WiFi) at a speed of (5) GHz, enabling fast and high data transmission.
