Prince Dr. Faisal bin Abdulaziz bin Ayyaf, Mayor of the Riyadh Region, highlighted the deep historical ties between Saudi Arabia and France during the Saudi-French Investment Forum on December 3.

Prince Faisal highlighted the enduring strength of Saudi-French relations, which have flourished for over a century. He pointed to key milestones that have shaped these ties, such as King Faisal bin Abdulaziz’s historic visit to France in 1967, where he met with President Charles de Gaulle.
Another notable event was the 2018 visit of Crown Prince to France. During this visit, 19 agreements were signed across various sectors—including petrochemicals, water treatment, tourism, and culture—amounting to over $18 billion.
Prince Faisal also highlighted the strong ties between Riyadh and Paris, which were formalized with the signing of a cooperation and friendship charter in 1997 during the visit of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, when he was serving as Governor of Riyadh Region. He emphasized that this relationship has continued to thrive, praising the successful partnerships that have been cultivated at every level.
Riyadh Metro
Prince Faisal highlighted Riyadh’s significant projects, including the Riyadh Metro, one of the largest public transportation initiatives in the world, along with cultural and entertainment developments such as Diriyah, Qiddiya, and King Salman Park. These efforts are designed to improve the quality of life in Riyadh and establish the city as a global destination. He encouraged French investors to explore the exciting investment opportunities in the city. Finally, he emphasized that Riyadh is not just a city of today, but a city of the future.
