Riyadh Air, Saudi Arabia’s newest national carrier, has announced the launch of daily flights between Riyadh and Cairo. The service will operate on the airline’s advanced Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, further strengthening its mission to link the Kingdom with major global destinations while delivering a premium travel experience in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
Chief Executive Officer Tony Douglas said the Cairo launch represents a significant milestone for the airline. He noted that the route reflects Riyadh Air’s ambition to position the Saudi capital as a leading global hub and to play a meaningful role in advancing Vision 2030.
Following the completion of its “Pathway to Perfect” operational readiness program, Riyadh Air expects to receive its first aircraft in the coming weeks. Commercial services to London, Dubai, and Cairo are scheduled to begin shortly thereafter. Cairo was selected as a strategic destination due to strong demand, with the Riyadh–Cairo corridor ranking among the busiest air routes globally, carrying approximately 2.7 million passengers last year.
The airline emphasized that launching service on this high-traffic route supports Saudi Arabia’s broader economic diversification and tourism objectives, while providing convenient travel options for pilgrims, leisure travelers, and business passengers.
Riyadh Air plans to continue expanding rapidly, targeting a network of more than 100 destinations worldwide by 2030.
