Qatar Airways Lands 1st Resumption Flight at Abha International Airport
The Air Connectivity Program (ACP) has thanked Qatar Airways for the resumption of direct flights between Doha and Abha in collaboration with “Discover Aseer” and Abha International Airport.
The Air Connectivity Program, in cooperation with its partners “Discover Aseer,” Abha International Airport, the Saudi Tourism Authority, and Qatar Airways, celebrated the resumption of direct flights between Doha and Abha.
This achievement is an important step within Saudi Arabia’s National Aviation Strategy for 2024, which aims to increase the number of travellers to the Kingdom to 330 million and expand international connections to over 250 destinations by 2030. It further enhances the Kingdom’s status as a global hub for travel and tourism.
The resumption of flights from Doha will strengthen the Aseer region’s efforts to become a tourist destination within the Kingdom, the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and globally.
As part of the Kingdom’s efforts to transform into a tourism hub, the Aseer region aims to welcome 9.1 million visitors annually by 2030 and attract 150 million visitors annually in the next five years.
