At a time when many technology companies around the world have been forced to close their retail stores in the midst of the Corona pandemic ,the American company Apple is planning to open its first floating store in Singapore.
And according to what was reported by CNBC, the new store will be in the form of a giant, illuminating ball that will be located on the waterfront of the city and will be called Apple Marina Bay Sands.
The company said that the new store will soon open its doors to the public, without going into further details about the expected date or the total area of the store.
Apple has two stores in Singapore, one in the city airport and the other on Orchard Street, which is popular as the city’s financial and business hub.
During a visit to Singapore last year, CEO Tim Cook said the city, which is considered a financial and business center in Asia, may welcome a new store as demand for Apple products soars.
Last year, Apple became the first company to exceed its market value of two trillion dollars after the company announced better results than analysts’ expectations for the quarter ending last June, with sales rising by 11% to $ 59.7 billion despite the turmoil that befell the company’s business due to the Corona pandemic and the demonstrations that occurred. It was witnessed by the American street after the killing of African American George Floyd by a policeman.
