Netherlands Reveals Expansive National Pavilion at Saudi Agricultural Exhibition
In a bid to foster greater agricultural relations and exhibit advancements in agricultural technologies, the Netherlands revealed the most expansive national pavilion at the 2023 Saudi Agricultural Exhibition. This significant event from October 23 to 26 in Riyadh, hosting 30 Dutch companies representing diverse agricultural sectors.
The exhibition served as a platform for these companies to display their prowess in various fields, including greenhouse agriculture, smart farming, agricultural robots, poultry and livestock farming solutions, agricultural product processing and packaging, aquaculture, irrigation systems, pesticides, fertilizers, dairy farms, as well as agricultural incubators and nurseries.
The Saudi Agricultural Exhibition, now in its 40th edition, is recognized as the largest B2B agriculture sector event in the region, providing a vital platform for the exchange of innovative solutions, cutting-edge engineering, and modern technologies in agriculture. This year’s focus was on sustainable water use, aligning with global sustainability goals and the particular interests of the Dutch agricultural sector.
The Netherlands’ extensive pavilion underscores the strong agricultural ties between the Kingdom and the Netherlands, offering a venue for exchanging technological expertise and exploring investment and employment opportunities in both nations.
The initiative also aligns with Saudi Arabia’s goals to augment its agricultural output, enhance export rates, and improve the trade balance with the Netherlands, marking a step towards self-sufficiency in food production1. This move comes at a crucial time as Saudi Arabia imports about 80% of its fruit, showcasing the importance of sustainable agricultural practices and international collaboration in advancing the country’s agricultural sector.
