Minister of Communications Expands Saudi-US Partnerships in Digital Economy

Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah Al-Swaha met with White House officials to deepen and expand the strategic partnerships between Saudi Arabia and the United States on digital economy, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The meetings discussed mechanisms of encouraging innovation in the Kingdom’s space industry in the presence of Saudi Ambassador Princess Reema bint Bandar and Deputy Minister of Communications Eng. Haitham Al-Ohali.
Furthermore, Al-Swaha met with the U.S. Secretary of Commerce, Gina Raimondo, and delved into the US’s support to the growth of digital economy in Saudi Arabia.
Al-Swaha and Raimondo highlighted the available investment opportunities that will accelerate the scientific and technical progress in various sectors across the Kingdom.
Moreover, Al-Swahs held a significant meeting with the Deputy National Security Advisor for Cyber and Emerging Technology Anne Neuberger to deepen the bilateral partnerships in the fifth and sixth generation technologies and the ORAN RAN technologies.
Additionally, Al-Swaha also held various conversations with Special Presidential Coordinator for Global Infrastructure and Energy Security Amos Hochstein and National Security Council Middle East and North Africa Coordinator Brett McGurk to discuss cooperation in digital economy and innovation.
In order to foster joint investments in space economies, Al-Swaha underscored the latest space technologies with the Executive Secretary of the White House National Space Council, Chirag Parikh.
Official Visit to US
These meetings were part of Al-Swaha’s visit to the US in order to boost the bilateral coordination and supporting the growth of Saudi’s digital economy.
Furthermore, Al-Swaha met with US Deputy Secretary of State Kurt Campbell in Washington on Friday.
They delved into the pivotal role of the modern technologies and policies that can enhance the research, development, and innovation between Saudi Arabia and the US.
