Mawani Launches CMA CGM Ocean Rise Express Service at Jeddah Port

Saudi Arabia’s Ports Authority (Mawani) has added CMA CGM’s Ocean Rise Express (OCR) service to Jeddah Islamic Port, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

This milestone seeks to further boost maritime connectivity between the Kingdom and international markets, enhance supply chain fluidity, and foster the operational efficiency of the port system.

The OCR service will directly link Jeddah to several major global ports, including Kobe, Nagoya, and Yokohama in Japan; Xiamen, Yantian, and Nansha in China; Rotterdam in the Netherlands; Hamburg in Germany; and Southampton in the United Kingdom.

The new service will be operated by a fleet of high-capacity vessels capable of handling up to 10,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs).

By adding this significant service to the Jeddah Islamic Port, Mawani underscores its commitment to strengthening the Kingdom’s position in the maritime navigation network connectivity index and raise the efficiency of operational performance in Saudi ports.

The new shipping services also enhances the link between the Kingdom and global markets and supports national exports and imports, in line with the Saudi Vision 2030.
