Jeddah Airports Signs Agreement with Heinemann for Duty-Free Operation

 Jeddah Airports Company signed a joint cooperation agreement with Heinemann, a global company specialized in providing shopping options in duty-free areas of international airports.

The agreement grants a seven-year commercial operating license in King Abdulaziz International Airport. It covers an area exceeding 10,000 square meters in the international departure area of Terminal (1) and the Northern Terminal.

This move is part of the company’s continuous efforts to improve the traveler’s experience, according to AL Sharq alawsat newspaper.

Signatories of Agreement

The signing was witnessed by Raed Al-Mudaihim, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Jeddah Airports Company. Ayman Abu Abah, the CEO of Jeddah Airports Company, represented the company during the signing.

Importance of  Agreement

The agreement unites global duty-free experts and Saudi market specialists to offer leading beauty, fashion, accessories, and confectionery brands. Jeddah Airports Company seeks to enhance service quality for travelers, aligning with the National Transport.

Raed Al-Mudaihim mentioned that, firstly, awarding the duty-free license to the experienced alliance significantly boosts King Abdulaziz International Airport’s status as a top global airport.

Additionally, he highlighted Jeddah Airports Company’s commitment to improving service quality. This effort notably aligns with evolving trends in air transport and aligns with national transport strategies.

The CEO of Jeddah Airports Company, stated that the agreement focuses on enriching travelers’ experiences with unique duty-free shopping. Furthermore, this agreement is key to meeting the Kingdom’s transport and logistics strategy goals. Additionally, it aims to enrich the increasingly busy travel experience at the airport.

Background of Allied Companies

Gebr Heinemann, a German company founded in 1879 in Hamburg, operates a wide range of large specialty stores in travel areas at 78 airports in over 28 countries.

The Arab Company for Supply and Trading (Estra), established in Riyadh in 1976, has branches in several cities across more than 11 countries.

Finally, Jordan Duty Free, which began operations in Amman in 1997, manages over 23 stores in strategic locations at international and regional airports around the world.
